MIDAS v4.24 Out Now!

We’re all experiencing unprecedented times with the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Firstly, if you’re an existing customer and your business is currently affected by the situation, then we want to reassure you that we’re here to help! Now, here at MIDAS as we are a small and agile online business, and as such our operations haven’t been significantly affected at this time. For all intents and purposes, it’s “business as usual” here at MIDAS – our sales team is still available online (via email or Live Chat) to answer any pre-sales questions you may have, and our support team is still providing prompt assistance to customer’s support queries (you can view our latest response times on our dedicated Service Status site).

As such, we’ve decided to press ahead with the release of our next update to MIDAS, v4.24, which is available now.

Highlights of MIDAS v4.24 include:

  • New: Support for multi-select custom list fields
  • New: Post booking email option – send clients an automated email after their bookings have taken place
  • New: “Can Bypass Venue Blocks” user permission (disabled by default)
  • New: Optional “Reviews” addon – automatically collect feedback, ratings, and reviews from your customers
  • Improved: List of organizations in drop-down on Invoicing screen now limited to organizations with invoices
  • Improved: BCC to me option when emailing an invoice/receipt now remembers user’s previous setting
  • Improved: Individual client statistics now include count and sum of outstanding invoices and client’s current credit
  • Improved: When assigning the “Can Process Booking Requests” permission, MIDAS will indicate if the user isn’t currently a manager of any venues
  • Fixed: Cumulative roll-up of various fixes for issues discovered since v4.23

Cloud-Hosted customers don’t need to do anything! – All our active Cloud-Hosted MIDAS customers have now been automatically updated to this latest version of MIDAS

MIDAS v4.23 Out Now!

We hope you’re all ready and getting excited (if not already!) for the holidays just around the corner?

Here at MIDAS HQ we’re excited – not only because Christmas is now just over a week  away (where has this year gone?!), but also because we’re pleased to announce an exciting update to our booking software, which includes a number of new and improved features, including support for setup/breakdown times for bookings.

We’ve also overhauled our optional “RSS Feeds” addon, renaming it to “Data Feeds” to reflect that this improved addon will now also allow you to sync your MIDAS bookings to your external Google/Outlook (or other external) calendar – something which is often requested!

MIDAS v4.22 Out Now!

We’re excited to announce the release today of v4.22 of our MIDAS room booking system, which includes the often requested feature of “custom client fields”.

Similar to the existing “custom booking fields” feature we first introduced back in 2010, which allows administrators to add further bespoke booking fields to their MIDAS booking system in addition of the standard booking fields, the new custom client fields feature provides similar functionality now to your client records.

What’s more, customers running self-hosted MIDAS booking systems can now also attach documents (for instance insurance certificates, signed contracts, etc) directly to client records through the use of custom client fields.

Here’s What’s New & Improved in v4.22:

  • New: Custom Client fields
  • New: Venue Utilization report based upon venue capacities
  • New: “All Days” tick box to allow setting venue rates for all days at once
  • New: MIDAS now warns if its database isn’t compatible with current software version
  • Improved: Option to split resources into categories when printing bookings as a table
  • Improved: Booking Grid View filter setting now persists between session
  • Improved: Booking Information Panel can now be scrolled if lengthy notes, etc are present
  • Improved: Booking Information Panel now remembers selected tab between sessions
  • Improved: Booking Information Panel “Pin” now remembers its state between sessions
  • Improved: Default Booking Type field no longer shown on Add/Modify Client dialog if no booking types defined
  • Improved: XML settings file migrated to JSON
  • Improved: Performance improvements (Pages now load ~200ms faster than before)
  • Improved: HiContrast theme
  • Improved: Initial page title now indicates friendly database name if only a single database is defined
  • Improved: The MIDAS updater now also automatically updates any installed addons
  • Improved: Logging for IPv6 and IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses
  • Improved: Custom Logo shown when logged in (in bottom left) now auto hides if booking information panel would cover it

MIDAS v4.21 Out Now!

We enjoy bringing you new and exciting features to our MIDAS room booking and resource scheduling software, and our latest update v4.21 released a few days ago is no exception!

For this latest update, we’ve been busy “under the hood” optimizing the back-end database structure and queries to make them even more efficient both in terms of speed and memory usage. We’ve also added a host of new invoicing features – including the introduction of “Deposit” invoices – and we’ve re-worked the bulk venue modification feature too to make it more user-friendly.

MIDAS v4.20 Out Now!

Earlier this month we released the latest update (v4.20) to our MIDAS room booking and resource scheduling software!

For this latest update, our main focus has been on updating and improving some of the visual elements of MIDAS, which you can read about in more depth in our previous post. We’ve also introduced a new addon for Microsoft Teams, as well as making several small improvements to MIDAS and also squashed 17 bugs that were discovered since the previous v4.19 release (don’t worry, no actual living bugs were harmed!).

Here’s What’s New & Improved in v4.20:

  • New: Honeycomb, Squares, and Wood visual themes
  • New: Drag & Drop Duplicate/Reschedule touch screen support
  • Improved: Visual themes now all include high-resolution SVG icons
  • Improved: Browser performance when loading data in the Client tab of the Booking Information Panel
  • Improved: After generating invoices from existing bookings, the invoicing screen now refreshes to show newly created invoices
  • Improved: Pending Booking Request screen will no longer show booking fields which have been hidden
  • Change: Bulk modifying venues no longer bulk modifies venue descriptions
  • Fixed: Cumulative roll-up of various fixes for issues discovered since v4.19 – see https://bugs.mid.as for details
